CFDF 24 CLASSES For Mandy
DAY 1 –
Friday: 2/9/2024
8:45-10:00
Class 1- BASIC – (3,2,1 – Blast Off! ) – Let’s get you going quickly and easily. You will tune up, and be playing a song or two by the end of class. With my easy method you will apply this to other songs you’d like to learn. You can do this, so get ready for some fun!! No Tab at all, bring an electronic tuner, a dulcimer, and a pick.
10:15-11:30
Class 2- BASIC – (A Little Tab Will Do Ya! ) – In this class you will quickly learn to read tab and be reading songs by the end of class. I promise you can do it, and it’s easy peasy lemon squeezy! Bring an electronic tuner, a dulcimer, a pick, and a smile.
1:00-2:15
Class 3 – INTERMEDIATE – 1 1/2 fret required – (Bluesy Licks) – We will use the stew outta that 1 1/2 fret and get some fun blues licks to add to your songs. These work great as fills, and endings too. It will help you be less timid about using and throwing that 1 1/2 fret into anything you do. We will blue up a few tunes also as time permits.
Day 2 –
Saturday 2/10/2024
10:15-11:30
Class 7 – Mountain Dulcimer Basic – (Strum City) – Let’s strum all over the place! Forward strums, back strums, and we’ll work on a basic strum pattern that you can add to songs to make them more interesting. We will work on how to properly time the back strum as well by counting our beats.
1:00-2:15
Class 8 – Mountain Dulcimer Novice – Bread with JAM! -Now let’s get to work on how to survive a jam session. YES, you need to be jamming right now. And with this class you’ll have an easy method to do so. Please purchase a dulcimer capo prior to class. Pen and paper will be handy as well for notes.
4:15-5:30
Class 10 – Mountain Dulcimer Intermediate – (The LOW Down) – This class is all about playing in that lower octave. You want and need to get comfortable there. So if you are ready to get to the next step and really add dynamics to your arrangements by playing in first position, this class is for you. No 1 1/2 fret needed.
